Back garden of a dream... by cricketumpire Back garden of a dream... by cricketumpire

When ideas evaporate, when shapes fade and forms lose their integrity, our imagination can create an outlandish
setting and convert everything into a hazy, misty Turner landscape.

North East of England near the City of York.   Try Google maps to pin point it   :)

I wondered how it would be received as I submitted it but I hadn't anticipated the mystical or fairy tale reaction I must admit   Here Cometh The Hero :tale:

Well, in itself (Back garden of a dream) is gorgeous.  However, it provokes immediate mystical and like you said, "fairytale" mindset.  But that's just me.  I could see it as a book cover, etc.

Agreed, perhaps an historical romance with knights and their ladies   2016 NaNoEmo - #19 Queen Queen Syn of Emotes    or just a straight medieval history tome    :book

I'm sure Canada must have its moments, if nothing else you get 'proper snow'. I've been back into photography for four years now and not seen scenic snow in the Midlands in that time  :merry christmas:

You're right.  Canada does have its great moments on film.  But seeing such wonderful photos like yours... well, it makes me homesick.  Besides, you have wonderful old architecture that we just don't have here, like castles and other cool older buildings.  We just don't get those in Western Canada.

I just love seeing such wonderful photos like this.

We have a friend in South Africa who is a retired official guide. He stayed with us and was gob smacked that we have a farm house in our village, dated at 1710 in the brickwork, that is older than any building in SA. We take our historic buildings for granted so I can understand your feelings

It's the remains of Helmsley Castle. You can get another view taken at night from my submission "In this midnight hour..." which makes it clearer.
Frankly not much of the castle remains, except the open shell of the keep. This view is perhaps the most striking one    Turtle Kingdom Steve the Guard

Thanks. Deviants are coming up with all sorts of mood feelings but I suppose that is the purpose of art, to create reaction and mood change.

I guess that I have at least succeeded partially in that  :?   I looked at the original scene through the camera and thought of King Arthur pursuing
the Holy Grail through misty landscapes but that idea may have been influenced by the presence of the castle more than the fog...     Arthur Sword In The Stone Animated
